The White Cliffs Symphonic Winds was formed in January 2004.
The band was originally set up as
the St. Edmund’s Community Symphonic Wind
Band and over the years has raised more than
£30,000 for local, national and international
charities.
The band has a new venue for rehearsals Dover
Grammar School for Girls, Dover, Frith Rd, Dover
CT16 2PZ (see the map on the right) and
rehearses on Thursdays at 7:30pm during
school term times.
The band comprises many former ex-Royal
Marines musicians as well as other
professional musicians, teachers and
competent amateurs and students and will
continue to delight audiences with a mix of
traditional and contemporary wind band
music, whilst raising money for charities.
As the name implies, the band plays mainly
modern compositions that are of an advanced
level but for concerts more traditional items
are included. Click here for details of our next
concert including the proposed programme.
